Causeway (#writephoto)

Note: I came across this #writephoto challenge several weeks ago and liked the concept. We’re to “use the image and title provided as inspiration to create a post… poetry, prose, humor… light or dark, whatever we choose… There is no word limit and no style requirements, except to keep it fairly family-friendly and not passionately political”.

I wrote this in a hurry this morning feeling the need to express myself before I must head to the weirdest doctor appointment due to this pandemic time.  divider-clipart-divider_line_med

My thoughts fly towards Thee
This is my plea
I long to be free

To walk on the causeway —
the path to Fey
at the break of day

But Lord, you’ve saved me
with utter glee
I ponder, why me?

I would love to play around more with this; but, I do not have the time. As always, it’s cathartic and freeing to play with words. I rarely complete/finish my works when I leave them.  So, it is what is, and thank you for listening.
